Sacrifed @ A Christmas Eve

It’s Christmas Eve. I was there in the newly baptized building of GKI Kayu Putih during the time of the preparation and the Christmas Eve Service itself. And there it was, the time of struggling emotions.

When personal ambitions are set above common-sense, even Church-members could do unimaginable things. Is it okay to sacrifice several peoples’ health solemnly for the good of a greater number of people? If greater number is always better, it was a very simple Christian life: sacrifice one brother to reach ten other peoples. Is that the way it was supposed to be done? In such a simple equation?

When such way is taken, maybe it is not a service at all. Maybe it’s just our ambition that overtook and overshadows ourselves.
