To Change or Not To Change: Doing My Best in an Everlasting Changing Life
The rumors are becoming more and more open. There will be a reshuffle in IT Division structure. Some will leave the division and works in another division; some will have a job rotation; some will even have a job enlargement. How’s the reshuffle to me? Simple, I am one of the affected ones.
Well, this reshuffling is not something that I can stop—resistance is futile, said the Borg in Star Trek. I can see this as just another “bump of change” in my life. And I have to face it, not mourn on it, but give what I can do best.
In life, there are numerous changes. Some are avoidable, some are not. Some are for good, some are not. And of course, some forces us to leave our comfort zone. It might not be a pleasant experience, but it might alter our life positively. The same also applies to changes back when we graduates, we are no longer a college student—we left our comfort zone where we live our life “only as a student” to become a fully matured and self-dependent person. It is our choice to take the honor to live the life as a honorable men by advancing trough the challenges it offers.
The choice is ours. We can be shaken by the change, but chose to adapt and performs again in the new environment. Or we can simply turn our vision back toward the old days in our comfort zone—while not realizing that we are doing nothing at all (!).
It is a sign of maturity to be able to face life and what it has to offer. It is a sign of maturity to be able to stand up again after a shock in life. And not to wanders in the old days.
The choice is up to each of us. Whether we can accept the change and DO what we ought to DO, or simply do not accept the change and DO NOT live in reality anymore.

Update: It is no longer a rumor. It is a fact. I am assigned to a new role in the IT Division. Time to do my best in the new position.
